“Red Girl Blue Boy” has a cute, if somewhat impossible, premise: what if the children of competing Presidential candidates (a Red Republican and a blue Democrat) fell in love with each other? Well, in this book, they do, and of course, complications – a lot of complications occur. I wish the complications weren’t so predictable, but since this book is mean for the YA audience, it serves its readers well. I found myself breezing through the pages, waiting for what will happen next. Oh how I wish Baratz-Logsted took a little more risk in the ending, but all in all a pleasantly cute read – nothing more and nothing less.
