Her Ever After (Book Thoughts: Happily Ali After, Ali Wentworth)

23287142I am racking my brains. In what movie or show do I know Ali Wentworth from? And why oh why did I start reading her book “Happily Ali After,” which showed up on my Kindle. But there I was, reading the book, even though, honestly, I am probably nowhere near its target market. But I kept on reading, because I am anal retentive and have this thing where I need to finish books after I start them.

‘Happily Ever After’ is more a collection of essays about Wentworth’s experience as a wife (to journalist George Stephanapoulis) and mom. I wish I could say they were very interesting stories to me, but they weren’t. She peppers them with humour, and I do appreciate a lot of it, but as I was reading, I kept on asking myself, “Why are you reading this?” It’s not the book, it’s me. I just don’t really relate to a lto of things parenthood, or wifely duties. I am sure some other people appreciate this more.
