It wasn’t until I finished reading Paige Toon’s “I Knew You Were Trouble” that I realized it was a sequel to an earlier book. No wonder it felt very disjointed for me. It almost seemed like this book isn’t a stand alone. I couldn’t understand why it felt like two books in one – the first half making you invest in characters that were nowhere to be found in the second part. And then a whole new slew comes in, and you stop caring. I was confused, and Toon’s writing style took a bit to get used to. So, this felt very unsatisfying for me.
