Ruby’s Slippers (Television Thoughts, Infiltration, S02E05)

an-overnight-date-unreal

There’s always been no one to root for in ‘Unreal,’ and because of that, for me, it’s becoming more and more difficult to keep on watching, because I ask myself, why should I care for any of these people? The one that came closest to good in the show is Ruby, the black militant turned hopeless romantic. But look what they did to her – they sent her home this week. I was starting to warm up the idea that Darius and Ruby were going to be a ‘thing.’ And they were warm and fuzzy feels. But then again, if they did that, then it would have been a very safe path for the show to choose – even coming close to a cop out. And no, this show would never do that. This show is all about back stabbing, cheating, illicitness. It is its hallmark, and it would have been stupid for me to expect otherwise.

But, the show does provide enough twists and turns to keep one interested, and this week seems to be Quinn’s week, with her getting the upper hand from Quinn and Cameron. But, as I said, I don’t know if I like ANY of them succeeding.
