Even though I have a lot of Nancy Thayer’s books on my TBR pile, I think this is actually the first novel I have read by her. What an utter disappointment. I have heard great things about her so I was perhaps expecting more, but this was a by-numbers book that seems like it was written in someone’s sleep. The tone of writing was colorless (much more so after finishing an Emily Giffin book) and there was no imagination in the storyline that basically went nowhere. There was nothing interesting in any of the characters, and Thayer even made the Nantucket locale sound like a bloody bore. I hust went through the motions finishing this book, forgotten after reading the last word.
