I bought Lolita Lempicka Au Masculin on the bay a while back very cheap (it was a sin how cheap it was) and have put it on file. I knew it was a male flanker from the women’s version ( i see now that this was released in 2011) and for some reason I thought this would have an apple scent, because the bottle of the female version is of an apple. I thought this was going to be on the bland side because, well just because of my snobbery.
But I have been wearing this now for a couple of days and I cannot believe how great it is. I also could swear there is a fig note in here. I smell around and see if someone is wearing Philosykos when I realize it’s me. I look up the notes for this and here’s what I get:
Notes: Green Accords, Ivy Green, Absinthe, Aniseed Water, Violet Flower, Violet Wood, Cashmere Wood, Cedar Wood, Vetiver, Citrus, Olive Wood.
The copy seems so generic, but I somewhere this fragrance is much more pleasant. the violet leaf is very prominent on me, but this ‘green accord’ is so light and airy that it never feels like an aquatic male fragrance. and the fig, where is this fig coming from? Am I just imagining it? I do not even see any fruit in here, just assorted woods. The whole ‘feel’ of the perfume seems to be almost feminine, and I wonder if men have taken to this scent at all? But to me, this seems to be the perfect late summer scent – slightly sweet, ephemeral, transparent.
