Unhappy Holidays (Movie Thoughts: Holiday Breakup)

I always thought it was so so sad (And of course, I could relate to it in thousands of ways) Could you imagine the joy and pain one would feel in a situation like that?  I always thought it would make a good scene in a romantic drama film.  Or even the heart of a film.

And then I find ‘Holiday Breakup,’ which is essentially that situation…only not.  Directed, written and starring Manon Matthews, this film touches that same sentiment, but this story is reed thin to give my ideal situation for it justice. This isn’t really such a bad film – one of those cute little love stories that would probably be more suited to Lifetime or Hallmark channel. But as a feature, probably not broad enough to succeed. She treats the let’s-tell-them-later situation more in a comedy vein. And that’s fine, though not really what I envisioned what I wanted it to be.
