In The Good Old Summertime (Movie Thoughts: All Summers End)

assumSometimes my heart craves for a good weepy love story, so I jumped at the chance of seeing ‘All Summers End’ because it promised such.  Just look at the tag line: ‘First Love will never let you go.’ I mean, no truer words have been spoken, right? Does the movie satisfy my caving? Eh.. It’s nice and fine and sweet and even has a slight edge to it, but it is also kind of tired and cliched. Usually, performances can make you overlook those things, and this is well-acted enough, but the over all effect still feels underwhelming. I don’t know – maybe it’s my mood nowadays, or perhaps I am now just too cynical for these kinds of emotions, but the film for the most part fell flat for me.
