When I looked at the CDBaby description of this album by Diana Bray, this was what was written: “A collection of danceable jazz tunes from America’s great songbook featuring Diana Bray and her Austin based ‘mini’ big band.” It kind of made me laugh: danceable jazz tunes? This I gotta hear, I told myself. What I heard was just generic versions of these versions, the sort you hear at random hotel lounges. Then I looked at her bio and there it is: she has performed at cruise ships. I love cruises, but her voice and sound is so generic that I would forget about her music the next morning – with cruise ship liquor, may be even sooner. Folks, nothing to see (or hear) here.
