Funny enough, I saw D & G Intenso Pour Homme around the same time I was reading that the designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana were big Trump supporters and I really wanted to just throw those things away. But, I thought, I could wear it on a nothing kind of day (although, really, there should be no nothing kinds of days for anyone, in theory) but then I realize that this perfume is the new intense, ‘heavier’ version of D & G Pour Homme, which I think I had liked. But, I wasn’t expecting much here. And upon first spritz, I wasn’t really impressed. I thought, just your generic lavender woodsy concoction that you can find under every designer label at any department store. But this one has a heart of tobacco in it, and that made it just a tiny bit more interesting. This is a clean tobacco note, filtered purified for mass consumption. I don’t dislike this at all. and that is the best compliment I can give it. It still smells pretty ordinary to me, and there’s nothing about it that would make me stand up and purchase it right away. But, it isn’t repulsive either, and a tobacco scent is always welcome. I could have been nastier about this, given my disdain for the house’s political stands, but it’s not worth my energy.
