The Beautiful Paintings Are Empty (Movie Thoughts: Postcards from London)

81Ck8sciD8L._SY445_‘Postcards From London’ is beautiful to look at. No wonder, its director, Steve McLean, started doing videos. But the beautiful room is empty – this is a very self-indulgent film with art references that no one would get. It’s very stylized for sure, and I was instantly lured by Harris Dickinson’s beautiful doe eyes (is there a better specimen in modern cinema?) but I thought this was as terminally boring as a film gets, and I already regret giving it more time than it deserves.
