It’s not a surprise that Moilly Hammer released a live album. She has a big personality that is probably translates well on stage. On Amazon, this recording was coded as ‘Explicit’ and I have to confess I wanted to listen to the whole thing right away to see what would cause that classification. I was saddened to see that there was nothing even remotely explicit in her patter, or her song selections, This is a pretty straightforward jazz  album full of swinging tunes, and her big brassy voice reminded me of Baby Jane Dexter. Usually I prefer a ballad or two but I thought the pacing of the show (and the album) was very good. It’s very ‘listenable’ that way.
