I finally finished Season One of Dead to Me, and it’s a wild ride. First of all, the performances of both Christina Applegate and Linda Cardellini both elevate the show to a better place. As a murder-mystery type thing, it kind of falters, and I think it excels more as a comedy because the two leads have fantastic chemistry, and they play off each other so well that you ignore whatever deficiencies the show may have. The writing is good, but something somewhere is kind of amiss- I think the blend of tones need to be more fluid. But all in all, it’s a great watch, especially the last couple of episodes that zip by.  I hope both actresses get Emmy nods for their work.
