The Revolt (Television Thoughts: Next In Fashion S01 E04-E05, Netflix)

I was a little underwhelmed with the first episode of Next in fashion, but I kept on watching. Someone told me that things perk up and there is major drama in the fourth episode. I watched it, and there it was. One of the judges, Kerby Jean Raymond (I must be so out of touch because I had never heard of him) basically revolted because it looks like Kiki and Farai were going to be sent home. He disagreed, and championed for them. And he stormed off stage. I don’t think I have ever seen this before in a reality competition – usually these things are either kept off the show, or it is super dramatized. To the show’s credit, the incident was handled with class, as it could have been more sensationalized. I don’t agree with him, though. I think those two needed to go, if only for the fact that they have been churning less than ideal output in the challenges. I peeked into Episode 5 and saw that the show did not send anyone home for this particular challenge, and I think that’s a bit unfair. One thing is for sure, it makes me want to watch more!
