Watered Down Love (Movie Thoughts: Love is Thicker Than Water)

littw‘Love Is Thicker Than Water’ is billed as a love story reminiscent of Romeo and Juliet. But it’s just bland. A couple from ‘different side of the tracks’ get together, and even with great acting by both Johnny Flynn (he’s a cutie) and Lydia Wilson, the film falls flat. They have okay chemistry, but I never got tension that lovers get. They are surrounded by a motley crew of characters in their families, but each of the characters are drawn so thinly none of them make any kind of impact.  The best thing about the film is the title, which is one of my favorite Andy Gibb songs.
